🚧 Mandurah Estuary Bridge Duplication Project May Construction Update 🚧

What's in store for May 👇

During April, central median strips were removed from Mandurah Road on both sides of the existing bridge to accommodate a shift in road lane configuration.

The completion of median works with asphalt and line-marking will take place, followed by some temporary steel barrier installation occurring from Monday, 6 May.

These works will be carried out during the day and will involve traffic management and lane closures. Although traffic may be affected.

Nearby residents can expect:

• Noise from machinery in operation, vehicle reverse beepers and some drilling to install the steel barriers.
• Vibrations may be felt in neighbouring properties while these works are performed.
• There may also be a slight odour from the asphalt activities.

Noise, vibration, and dust limits will always be monitored to ensure they are within the approved acceptable range.

🔸 Mandurah Road Transformation: Median works are underway on Mandurah Road, enhancing lanes for smoother traffic flow. Expect minor delays and temporary lane closures starting on Monday, 6th May, as upgrades on road markings and steel barriers are installed.

🔸 Eastern Reclamation Pad: Construction of temporary working pads near the estuary's edge is underway, crucial for building the new bridge's foundation. Rest assured, environmental safeguards like silt curtains are in place to protect our waterways.

🔸 Egret Point Embankment: Preparations are in full swing for the embankment, supporting the bridge's superstructure. While this work progresses, you might notice some noise, vibrations, and dust, but the Main Roads and Georgio teams are vigilant about minimizing disruptions.

🔸Beach Access Update: As the project progresses into the estuary, temporary closures on the eastern foreshore will commence on Monday, May 13th. Alternative routes are being mapped to ensure minimal inconvenience.
