🚗 Exciting Progress on the Mandurah Estuary Bridge Duplication! 🌊
With over 33,000 vehicles crossing the original 1980s bridge daily, congestion has been a big issue—especially during holidays. But good news is on the way! The $136 million project is underway, adding a second two-lane bridge to improve traffic flow and future-proof the area 🚧.
The bridge will also feature a four-metre-wide shared path for cyclists and pedestrians, as well as an accessible fishing platform 🎣.
Construction started in January 2024, and the first segments will launch by October this year. You can expect to drive on the new lanes by late 2025! 🎉
The team is committed to sustainability, collaborating with local groups like Estuary Guardians to protect marine life, and working with Aboriginal businesses to ensure community involvement.
This project is all about creating a better, more connected Mandurah, for locals and visitors alike 🌱.
