On Wednesday 13th August, we reached a major milestone with Peel Health Campus coming into State Government hands, with South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) managing and operating the hospital.
This transition will allow SMHS to link and align clinical services provided at other WA Health sites for the people of the Peel region. A new insourced pharmacy service will also now operate in the hospital, which means NO medication invoices on discharge. 🏆
The ongoing redevelopment and upgrade will give the much-needed space for an expanding community within the Mandurah region. The tender for the major re-development is due to be in the next few months. This take-back reverses the privatisation of services by the Liberal National Government more than 20 years ago. We are also delivering the biggest upgrade in the hospital’s history.✅
